
Re-branding and new programme structure on 17th district's radio station
The former Radio station of the 17th district of Budapest has been providing a twenty-four-hour a day public service programme in the capital and in its surrounding areas, particularly in the eastern and southern part of Pest County for over twelve years. The station's programme has been edited and transmitted from its studio located at no 5 Kőér Street, Kőbánya, Budapest for more than three years now.
Additional to entertaining their listeners the station's management has placed great emphasis on providing accurate, dependable, timely and independent information from the very beginning. At Radio 17 there is a great emphasis on interactivity too: additionally to the daily tasks the station's staff is required to encourage listeners and partners to engage and possibly create direct relationships with them.
During the last couple of weeks the station's editorial office have decided to renew the station's programme structure and to re-brand the channel. As a result of the change Radio 17 has become a Hungarian music channel which can also be received via the internet around the world by visiting the www.radio17.hu website. The station's music palette lists Hungarian studios, publishing houses, singers and musicians latest tracks together with everyone's favourites the "Hungarian oldies but goldies".
The station's live weekday programme starts at 7AM with the morning show, Ébresztő ("Good Morning"), a singular show with plenty of useful news and traffic information content for people who are already on their way to work or just about to leave!
The morning show is followed by Vendégváró ("waiting for guests") between 10AM and 12PM inviting interesting, well known people to Radio 17's studio to discuss events and to comment on news stories. At midday the listener request programme "Szieszta" entertains the channel's listeners followed by the popular afternoon programme that incorporates music, programme offers, brings local and world news every hour and hosts special guest each days to chat about topics that are of interest to the channel's listeners.
Radio 17's afternoon programme, a sort of layer programme, from 4PM with several section including:
- automotive news;
- news from the world of Sports with a special focus on boxing;
- "live it woman" section titled Retikül ("Woman handbag");
- Csillagfény ("Star light") that gives background information about star's lives;
- the movie preview programme titled MovieM giving inside stories and latest movie reviews;
- the book show, Olvasójegy, providing reviews, news and author interviews and offering books that worth to read;
- Nekem90 ("It is the 90s' for me") transmitting ever green music;
- Határok nélkül ("Without Borders") opening doors to the European Union; and last but not least the
- Konyhafőnök ajánlata ("Chef's Specials") the cooking show that presents recipes and cooking ideas.
The 5PM internal affairs programme, Mozaik, followed by an hour kids section with bed time stories from 6PM and with the interactive evening and late night show from 7PM onwards during which the station's presenters discussing gossips, literature news as well as religious questions with Radio 17 listeners
The station's 24 / 7 programme is edited by 7 people: Enikő Jakab, Erika Lajkó, Zoltán Doór, Márton Csorba, Attila Molnár and Zsolt Sződy. The Editorial Staff headed by Zoltán Orbán Dr as Editor-in-Chief, and completed by Gyuláné Süllős, Owner and Managing Director, and Gergelyné Varga, general manager.
