Radio Ha-Jó* took off in the spring of 2004 on Fm 98,4 Mhz. During our journey on the airwaves we share interesting and useful information with our fellow passengers, and give them the best music in the whole world. We welcome old and new listeners with a 24-hour programme structure.
One of the strengths of Radio Ha - Jó is the friendly tone and cosy atmosphere based on the close and mutually reliable relationship we have with people of the local public life, with institutions and the staff of public duties. The introduction of local public affairs and the processing of local information are made much more colourful, live and up-to-date by their continuous live participation. However, the radio's aim is not only to introduce local values, but to form them too in the spirit of actual culture and public life trends, while, at the same time to entertain, inform, relax and interest listeners.
We believe that our presence will enrich people's knowledge, help to keep the values and traditions of our county. During our journey we find lost treasures that are worthy to show to others, or new items that people might find interesting. We examine stories and lives of people from an unusual point of view. We edit our own questions but look forward to the questions of listeners too, hoping to get the answers from our audience, our experts, interviewees and partners.
Our aim
Being a local medium our main aim is to provide people living in the area with useful and up-to-date stories of public interest.
We aim to assist people with trustworthy, fast information while providing valuable, easy-going entertainment.
It is important for us that out programmes make people think and form questions.
Our colleagues
Apart from experienced professionals a dynamic and energetic younger generation also plays an important role. Out colleagues do their absolute best to put together their unique programmes, providing interesting, extraordinary topics and information to listeners.
Our programmes
Our repertoire offers factual, objectively historical programmes about the events and happenings of local public life, problems and tensions that the area faces, as well as possible solutions. We comply with the principles of providing impartial, factual information and the contextual obligations of the public service.
We have a weekly, separate programme especially for the art of the motion picture and new movies, as well as classic films.
Our art and culture programmes aim to fulfil several aims. The thematic introduction of existing universal and national values is provided by especially edited programme series.
Providing programmes that realize freedom of religion and freedom of thought carry a special importance for us. We achieve this by making programmes about the liturgy and religious practice of the different religions, denominations and churches (Catholic, Evangelical, Presbyterian, Unitarian, Israelite) that exist in this area.
Since our transmitting area is a dynamically developing region, our economic programme concept has to reflect this. Apart from the actual events of the local economy, its history of development and possibilities of growth we also have to introduce the innovation possibilities of the area, serving the regional development intentions. Our area is a mainly trade-, agricultural-, food industry and processing region, therefore informative programmes that deal with these industries also play an important role in our programme structure.
As strategically determining premises the export candidates, investment opportunities and market conditions of the economic verticum of the region appear in a strongly stressed way in our programme structure. Below there are the details introducing the programmes and programme series that undertake the task of complying with these topics.
Discovering and exposing the opportunities that lead to economic development is one of the most important tasks of the radio. The most important programme tools to realize this aim are the themed, informative magazine programmes, the report programmes analyzing the current situation, the forum-type interactive studio talk shows and the themed news programmes about everyday events.
The public life programmes connected to breakout points fit around this; among others they would introduce information about tourism, countryside tourism, event tourism and enterprise development.
The education situation in the region is well developed; the modern education structure and the results of retraining are values and opportunities that are useful and important to introduce. Programmes that deal with this topic will enjoy a central importance in our programme structure; we believe the best way is to make reports, interviews, special, informative, news-like programmes and interactivity-based "talk"-shows.
We also want to take an active part in education, housing the making of distance-learning programmes for county's regional job centre and retraining centre and other institutions and associations offering educational programmes.
Some of the most important problems in the region include healthcare, healthy lifestyle and special social-political matters. In the programme series of the radio special attention is given to programmes dealing with the above mentioned public service topics, we aim to use all possible ways of radio programmes to realize this. The specific programmes are detailed in the programme guide below.
Programmes about local sports and free time activities want more than complying with the informative task: they also want to introduce the opportunities of the region and the changes that concern them. We believe that broadcasting sports event and free time activities and making edited programmes about them is an important public service task. Broadcasting events that fall into this category, their everyday problems and topics will be introduced through interviews, reports and studio talks.
The specific programmes are detailed in the programme guide below.
Our music style
Our music palette is equally unique: from the Fifties right until today all kinds of music can be found here, including the biggest hits, interesting and rare songs; we do not discriminate or select any styles.
Music programme pieces, as the traditional elements of radios have been put into a programme order according to a style-interest-actuality theme. Our programme guide details the setup according to styles and music periods; the specific programmes are detailed in the programme guide below, which includes a selection according to different interests.
* Ha-jó is a word game, impossible to translate into English: written like this it has a double meaning: "hajó" means "ship", but "ha jó", in two separate words means "if (it is) good".
